Turkey fears Israeli-lobby to pass Armenian genocide in US-Congress and tighten relation with Armenia

Ararat News –Publishing (ANP) – Roni ALASOR – 09/2/2009 / Brussels - After Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan's attack to Israeli policies in Gaza and closer ties with Hamas, now the Turkey fear that pro-Israel lobby in Washington will not support Turkey longer against Armenian lobby which is trying hard to effect USA policy to recognize the Armenian Genocide in 1915.

Many do believe that if the Israeli pro-lobby in US will stay neutral to not support Turkey longer, there is high possibility that Armenian genocide will pass in US Congress. This is why Turkey seriously fears and searches more active diplomatically ties with Yerevan to cool down the Armenian lobbies in US and Europe.

AKP deputies Suat Kiniklioglu, who has just visited US to feel the smell-atmosphere around black men in White House, told newly to the Turkish media that Armenian lobby is working hard to bring the resolution to the attention of Congress for a vote. This is why Turkey worries for and at the same time Turks are pessimist for an active support from Israeli-lobbies in US. Turks are warning also US to not be involved in the Armenian genocide case.

According sources from Ankara who talk to Ararat News (ANP), Turkey working under table in dialog with Armenia to open closed border with Armenia and open its embassy in Yerevan as well Armenian Embassy in Ankara. Turkey do believe that Azerbaijan will also support Ankara and the Azeris will not make complications while Turkey will “find a solution” in Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

The Armenian President Sarkisyan also gives green light that there will be more closer ties between the two countries and he hopes that the half open and half secret talks between two neighbouring countries will give formal relations soon already before 2010.

Despite all, at the same time, Turkey is sending to Israel two messages, “apologies for misunderstanding” but also new threat; “it will be hard for Israel to maintain its existence in Middle East without Turkey's support”.

Turkey has always repeated that the country has “nothing to fear in history”, meanwhile they ask officially to set up a commission of historians”, but according them Armenia have always refused. Turkey is still insisting for the proposal of a commission of historians.
