Special monitoring of EU funds for Romania and Bulgaria
Ararat News –Publishing (ANP) – Roni ALASOR – 19/2/2009 / Brussels - Budgetary control committee in European Parliament (EP) is asking for a kind of “Special monitoring of EU funds for Romania and Bulgaria”. And Herbert Bosch, the head of the parliament's budgetary control committee is agree. Romania and Bulgaria lost more then 600 million Euro of EU`s funds since last year.
"We are left with the impression that we haven't been informed correctly about the pre-accession funds spent in Bulgaria and Romania," Herbert Bosch, Austrian member of Socialist Group in the European Parliament and head of the parliament's budgetary control committee told EU observer.
According EU observer, the Members of the European Parliament (MEP)'s budgetary control committee are likely to ask the EU commission in March to deliver regular updates on the spending of EU funds in Bulgaria and Romania.
Reactions from MEP's to spent of EU funds in Romania, Bulgaria and other East Europe countries are strong, but at the same time the citizens of the mentioned countries do believe that EU`s budgetary control committee are “more strong to Romania and Bulgaria then to other East European member countries”.
